The shipyard «Severnaya Verf» was one of the first to set about complex system of the product quality control in shipbuilding.

In 1979 and in 1985 the yard was rewarded the diplomas of All-Union Central Council of Trade-Unions and State Standart «For achievement of the best results in production release of the highest quality class». Also the yard was rewarded the premia of Ministry for mastering the new equipment which was at the level of the best native and foreign analogs (1607 and 16071 roll in-roll out vessels, furniture goods, ship machine-building goods, equipment means).

In 1998 «Severnaya Verf» being among the first in production branch began the development of Quality System which met the requirements of international ISO 9000 standards and got conformity certificates of two independent organisations: «Soyuzsert» in «Oboronsertifikat» facultative certification system and «Bureau Veritas Quality Int.».

In April, 2006 the yard got a conformity certificate «Bureau Veritas Quality Int.» on standard version ISO 9001:2000.

As part of the yard Quality Department there are MainYard Laboratory and Metrological Service which maintain control and performing measurements, analysis and tests by their technical facilities.
