The managers of Severnaya verf declared that the yard would build three frigates for Indian Navy

Quotation of the day
«Kommersant»

«...Yesterday the managers of Severnaya verf declared that the yard would build three frigates for Indian Navy. In the midst of January the plant «Yantar» in Kaliningrad made the same statement. But the representatives of Federal Dealership of Industry and Ministry of economy development unofficially confirmed Kommersant that the choice is done in Yantar’s favor (see Kommersant dated the 16th of January). However, Director General of Severnaya verf Alexandr Buzakov declared yesterday «Federal Dealership of Industry made the decision that the leading executer of the order would be Severnaya verf. Yantar has not delivered any ship for the last nine years unlike Severnaya verf».

...The Representative of Russian Industrial Complex Board (the structure of International Industrial Bank, the owner of Severnaya verf) Alexandr Gnusarev did not make any comments regarding the way the shareholders are going to stand upon their interest, he just mentioned that: «There is always fight around large-scale contracts. Earlier the destroyers for China were tried to be led off from us. But everyone knows what was the result of it. Answering the question whether the Medium and Small Tonnage Shipbuilding Concern had the negotiations with International Industrial Bank about Indian Contract or about shipbuilding market sharing, Mr. Gnusarev mentioned: «Mr. Heyfets (Director General of Medium and Small Tonnage Shipbuilding Concern) is unable to submit any serious proposition».
