On February 1st, 2006 at the Shipbuilding plan «Severnaya verf» the keel-laying of leading frigate for Russian Navy took place. Ceremony has passed within the limits of operatively-mobilization gathering of the administrative board of Russian Navy at participation of Russian Navy Commander-in-chief VLADIMIR MASSORIN and commanders of Northern, Pacific, Baltic and Black Sea fleets.
By the order of Russian Navy Commander-in-chief the leading ship was named after Admiral of Soviet Union Fleet Sergey Georgievich Gorshkov.
The chairman of Russian Federation State Duma committee on affairs of the CIS Andrey Kokoshin, deputy of Federal Industrial Agency head Andrey Dutov, the daughter of admiral S. G. Gorshkov Elena Gorshkova were the guests at the ceremony occurred at Severnaya verf.
THE INFORMATION:
The frigate is intended for conducting operations in distant and near sea zones, and also for participation in the decision of tasks in an ocean zone.
