Ñorvette «Steregushy» by 20380 project was launched lead on «Severnaya verf» plant
 
On 16th May 2006 within «Severnaya verf» plant was launched lead corvette «Steregushy» by 20380 project.

In the event took part: commander-in-chief of war-marine fleet of Russia admiral of fleet Vladimir Masorin, governor of S.-Petrsburg Valentina Matvienko, general director of closed JSC «United industrial corporation» Alexander Gnusarev, general director of JSC shipyard «Severnaya verf» Alexander Buzakov.

NOTE:
Corvette by project 20380 was designed by Central marine design studio «Almaz» (general director – general designer Shlyachtenko Alexander Vasilyevich, the main designer of the poject Ivanov Igor Nikolaevich).
Multifunctional ship of marine zone by project 20380 (class «Steregushy») is destined for fight with surface ships, submarines, for air defense guarantee, and also artillery support of landing and operations of marine desant.

Total length - 105 m
Length on water-line – 90 m
Peak speed – 27 knots
Maximum distance autonomous navigation (at 14 knots speed) – 4000 sea miles
Crew (including service group of helicopter) – 100 people
The export appearance of ship is also approved.

The creation of the ship gave a powerful push to the revival of Russian industry in the field of the development of high technologies. 21 patents are introduced in the project and 14 certificates about registration of programmes for EC were given out. New solutions about reduction of physical fields of the ship – «stels» technology – were used. In particular, we managed to reduce considerably radar distinction of the ship by means of application (as material for superstructure) of non-inflammable fiberglass plastics with properties of radio absorption and also by means of architectural arranging of the hull and superstructure, the placing of antenna posts within radio transparent tower masts.

Multifunctional ship is rigged by new samples of Russian weapon and radio electronic and hydro-acoustical arms for solving missions of ÓÐÎ, air defense and ÏËÎ. The composition of the arms of corvette is balanced by missions and sources of target designation. All systems of the ship, including battle, are operated by means of modern integration informational systems worked out on the domestic enterprises.

While corvette projection the most modern technologies and technical solutions applied in the military shipbuilding were used. In particular, the modular principle of shipbuilding not only reduces production costs but also guarantees its high modernization resources during all life cycle (30 years).

CORVETTE MARKET.
Favorable conditions for corvette development are defined above all by achievements in the field of reduction of mass dimension characteristics of ship weapon and arms with simultaneous improvement of showings of their efficacy which allows to place it on the ships of relatively small displacement and considerably raise not only battle ability but also competitiveness of corvettes on the world market of weapon among other ship classes. Significant are changes in the modern political situation and those economical handicaps, which resulted in the shortening of ship staff of the great sea powers and of plans for new fleet building.

Answering the needs of the present leading countries started to work out new corvette programmes. The most famous of them - corvette programme for navy of Germany which started in 2001. In France the working out of the corvette of new generation ÑÑX-21 is finished. In 2003 the governor of USA announced tender for creation of battle ship of littoral zone LCS. For performing the task «Lockheed Martin» formed a consortium in the structure of «Blohm+Voss» company, American shipyard «Bollynger» and also some particularized firms. Job will start in 2004, letting of the first ships will be in 2007.

In building of the lead ship of corvette series for navy of RF took part more than 70 Russian research, planning and industrial enterprises, including «Avrora», «Altair», Kolomensky plant, Sredne-Nevsky shipbuilding plant, Tulamash plant,CRI name Krylov, CRI TC and others.

The delivery of «Steregushy» corvette to WSF of RF is planned on the beginning of 2007. The forming of the hull of the first serial corvette «Soobrazitelny» (was founded in may 2003) is finished, the hull job is being carried out on the second serial «Boiky» (was founded in july 2005). This year it's planned to start a building of the third serial ship.
