By order of the Commander-in-chief the ship was named «Stoikiy».
INFORMATION:
The ship got its name «Stoikiy» in honour of the legendary ships of the Soviet Navy, which were also built at «Severnaya Verf». There are: P-7Y destroyer, which became a part of the Baltic Navy in 1940 (participated in Leningrad offensive defense during the Great Patriotic War, was awarded to the rank of guards); and P-956 destroyer, launched in 1987, carried out the missions on the Pacific Ocean Navy (active service in the Persian Gulf, South China Sea, Indian Ocean, convoy leading during the Persian-Iraqi conflict).
Second-in-Command Chief of Russian Navy, Admiral Zakharenko Mikhail G., Deputy plenipotentiary of Russian president in North-West Federal region Mocak Mikhail V., and Director General of JSC Shipbuilding plant «Severnaya Verf» Buzakov S. Alexander took part in the ceremony.
The corvette «Stoikiy» is the fourth order of 20380 project.
Lead ship «Steregushiy» of the 20380 serial was put to sea in 10th November for carrying out the sea trials. Development type technical tests and state ship testing are planned to be in 2007. Hull formation of the second order «Soobrazitelniy» is finished, work is underway on superstructure making. The third order «Boykiy» is in the hull development stage on the ship-way.
