On July, 27th, 2005 at Shipbuilding plant «Severnaya Verf» a patrol ship of the Project 20380 for Russian Navy has been laid on her keel. The order of the Commander-in-chief of the Navy of the Russian Federation appropriates the name «Boiky» to the ship.
M.G.Zaharenkov, the Deputy of the Commander-in-chief of the Russian Federation’s Navy, A.F.Shlemov, the Head of the Shipbuilding Department of the Russian Navy, M.E.Oseevsky, Vice-Governor of St.-Petersburg has taken part in the ceremony.
This event became the main thing in the program of celebration the Day of Navy, the main day of the enterprise.
THE INFORMATION:
Corvette of the Project 20380 was developed by the «Almaz» Central Marine Designing Bureau. It is planned to equip the ships with the newest systems of fighting. They will be used for patrolling coastal waters, escorting and antisubmarine operations.
Displacement – nearby 2000 tons.
Overall length – 105 m.
Length on a waterline – 90 m.
Maximal speed – 27 knots.
Autonomic range (with speed of 14 knots) – 4000 miles.
Crew (with helicopter service group) – 100 men.
From features of the Project 20380 corvette is usage of elements of «stealth» technology at her construction. The export shape of the ship is approved also.
Laid on her keel before the Navy Day, the patrol ship «Boiky» became the third ship of the Project 20380. By present time, the hull of «Stereguschiy», the leading ship, has been completely generated; main power plant and a superstructure have already been installed. The second ship has been named «Soobrazitelny» and laid on her keel on the «Severnaya Verf» on May, 2003. Now the works on formation of her hull are being finished.
